| Mission The mission of P.S. 268 is to create a school culture that
fosters student's success in academic and personal growth. This
includes supportive professional teachers who will form alliances
with students, encourage risk-taking strategies, and ensure success.
All students including Special Education and English Language
Learners (ELL) will meet and/or exceed the New York State Standards
in all curriculum areas. Our goal is to create a safe, secure and
orderly environment that develops character, a sense of
responsibility to self, and the school community by showing respect
to all. The use of intervention and enrichment activities will
engage students and give them a clear sense of purpose. The school
staff will be responsible for facilitating students' academic and
social-emotional growth. The school community will encourage
students to comply to the school's rules, regulations, and policies
with the development of strong parent and school relationships. The
School Leadership Team will assess the effectiveness of the
Comprehensive Educational Plan (CEP) based on an analysis of the
schools testing data. Then discuss proposed modifications and/or
alternatives, develop goals and objectives, and create action plans
that will translate into observable, effective strategies to improve
student achievement. As a result, our students will acquire the
ability to obtain a global perspective of life and
